Short-term Disability Insurance
We have partnered with AFLAC to provide a voluntary Short-Term Disability plan, with options to choose coverage ranging from $400 to $3,000 per month (subject to income requirements), up to 70% of your base pay (offsets with our self-funded state disability benefits for employees in CA, NY, NJ, RI, HI, and Puerto Rico). You choose the benefit waiting period. Options include 0/7, 7/14, or 30/30, which means a 0 day wait for accidents, 7 days for illness, etc. You also have the option of how long benefits will pay. Options include 6 months, 12 months, or 24 months. Work-related disabilities are not covered under this plan. The cost
You pay the cost through convenient payroll deductions with after-tax dollars. The cost is based on your age and the coverage amount you choose. Please keep in mind that IES employees are located in many states; therefore, plans and rates may vary from state to state.
Eligibility/Enrollment:
To become eligible to enroll you must first have at least 90 days of employment with IES and work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
